Isabella Lovestory and Villano Antillano Are Mermaids in ‘Fuetazo’

There’s something Isabella Lovestory does with her neo-perreos, they make people feel fearless. On Wednesday, the Honduran star released the video for “Fuetazo,” her new single with Villano Antillano, which she says is about “making moves” and being unafraid “like a mermaid’s tail hitting the water.”

The visual sees the two performers wearing mermaid tails while wading in water in the back of a truck and lying on a sandy beach.

“The serendipitous and spontaneous adventure of making the song makes this collab so special for me,” Lovestory tells Rolling Stone. “We both do what we want without following any rules, and want people to feel that way when listening to this song.”

A ella nada la detiene,” she adds, referring to the song’s chorus. “Nothing can ever stop a bad bitch who knows what she wants.”

Villana (as Antillano’s fans know her) and Lovestory made “Fuetazo,” which means “sucker punch,” with Kamixlo and Dinamarca after the two musicians performed together in Madrid. “Kamixlo’s industrial and abrasive sound mixed with Dinamarca’s dreamy production created an atmospheric, dark but elegant sound,” she says. “Chicken then helped us arrange it and make it the banger it is.”

Lovestory’s vocals and Villana’s raps seem like a match made in heaven as the two stars share similar fanbases of devoted LGBTQ Latine fans.

“Fuetazo” follows Lovestory’s only release this year, “Latina” and its remix featuring La Goony Chonga. She dropped her album Amor Hardcore, featuring songs “Exibisionista” and “Gateo” with Ms Nina, last year. (The album landed at No. 21 on Rolling Stone‘s list of Best 50 Spanish-Language Albums of 2022.) Meanwhile, Villana dropped “Cuero” in late September and joined Lil JouJou on “Thick Thick.”

“I want to make music about fucking around, because I feel that people like me deserve to be able to fuck around and not think,” she told Rolling Stone after being selected for the Future 25.
