Injured Bald Eagle Rescued on Long Island

On Friday, December 15, New York State Environmental Conservation Officer Emilio Zullo received a report of a bald eagle in distress in the hamlet of East Marion in the town of Southold, Suffolk County.

The Officer responded to the location and observed a juvenile bald eagle stuck in a fence, suspecting it injured itself when it flew into the fence while chasing prey.

Once removed, the bird was unable to fly.
