‘Today With Hoda & Jenna’ Hits Awkward Snag As Jenna Bush Hager Struggles To Navigate Her Cell Phone On The Air: “I Feel Like My Mom”

Jenna Bush Hager shared her manifestation goals for 2024 during Tuesday’s (Jan. 9) broadcast of Today, but not before awkwardly struggling with her phone on camera.

After explaining to co-host Hoda Kotb that she made a list in her Notes app of “the things that I wanted to do more of,” she then reached for her cell phone at her side to read the list of goals she set for the year. But the segment took an awkward pause as she struggled to find the list.

“How do you find your notes?” she asked Kotb, who replied by instructing her to go to the Notes application.

“Um, okay. Let’s see,” Bush Hager said as she continued searching her phone. “Oh, you know what, I think I did it— I’m like my mom. I did it in drafts.”

But Kotb was already becoming exasperated with her. “Oh jeez,” she said as she covered her eyes.

The segment finally got back on track when Bush Hager eventually found the list in the drafts folder of her email, where she said she wrote that she wanted “a house filled with joy, laughter, kind voices” and to “be like water: softer, more gentle, more flexible.”

“I love that!” Kotb replied. “That’s beautiful.”

This isn’t the first time Bush Hager has slightly derailed a segment.

During an episode of Today last year, Bush Hager found herself at a loss during a conversation with Kotb about making new friends.

She began trying to address Kotb’s point about first impressions before she later trailed off mid-sentence and admitted, “… I don’t really know what to say.”

Kotb began to laugh uncontrollably at the awkward moment. She tried to steer the conversation back and make sense of what Bush Hager was saying, but she could not stop laughing.

“No, please stop,” Bush Hager jokingly begged her co-host as she continued to laugh. “This is what sometimes happens and I don’t even know what it is.”

Today with Jenna and Hoda airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
