The Washington Project: Hudson Valley Student Performances

Washington Project 2024The Washington Project 2024, consisting of individually created theatrical and musical performance pieces by students from the Hudson Valley, features interpretations of historic events that took place while General George Washington was headquartered in Newburgh, NY. These pieces, written by the students themselves, allows them to interpret history in a contemporary and meaningful way.

A special live premiere presentation will take place on Sunday, February 11th at 3pm at Safe Harbors Lobby of the Ritz Theater. The theater is located at 107 Broadway in Newburgh, in Orange County. The public are encouraged to attend this free event.

The Washington Project 2024 live presentation will include the premiere of this year’s video along with live presentations and discussion. The video will air on YouTube starting Sunday, February 18th in conjunction with Presidents Weekend.

This endeavor is a collaborative effort of Safe Harbors of the Hudson and Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site. Funding for The Washington Project 2024 is provided through the New York State Connect Kids to Parks initiative, a program of New York State Parks and the Environmental Protection Fund.

Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site is a registered National Historic Landmark. It is located at the corner of Liberty and Washington Streets within the city of Newburgh’s East End Historic District.
