Police claim the rapper pulled an illegal U-turn and failed a sobriety test early Tuesday morning
Police in Gwinnett County, Georgia, arrested GloRilla early Tuesday morning and charged her with driving under the influence, according to multiple reports.
Fox 5 Atlanta reports that an officer from the Suwanne Police Department spotted the rapper, real name is Gloria Woods, making a U-turn against a red light at around four in the morning. Her passenger was her brother. She reportedly told the cop that she was on her way home from an Atlanta venue.
The officer claimed to smell alcohol on her breath and marijuana coming from her car and observed her eyes were watery and bloodshot. She allegedly admitted to drinking but assured the cop that she felt she was safe to drive. But during a sobriety test, her top slipped, exposing her chest, and she was “unable to realize” her nudity. She was also walking unsteadily, according to TMZ, and she reportedly failed walking and eyesight concentration tests. The gossip site reports she refused to take a breathalyzer test. Another cop found marijuana and an open alcoholic drink in the car.
Woods was released on bond within hours.
A rep for GloRilla did not immediately return Rolling Stone’s request for comment.
The rapper will be supporting Megan Thee Stallion on her upcoming Hot Girl Summer tour dates, which kick off in less than a month. Recent social media posts have shown her working out and getting in shape for the tour, and she and Megan have been going back and forth in the comments about how much they’re looking forward to the trek.
