A New York Almanack Update On Our Fundraising Woes

by NEW YORK DIGITAL NEWS

Spring has sprung! And so has New York Almanack‘s annual fundraising drive. It’s always a struggle, but for several months our Rally.org fundraiser has been out of commission, so we need a new plan.

If all of our 2,200 subscribers gave a $10 per month (about five cents per story) recurring contribution I’d never have to ask again. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. In 2023, despite having 2 million readers, only about 150 people made a one-time contributions. Many of our most dedicated supporters give more than $10 per month (thank you!), but so many more don’t, or can’t.

So I’m asking you now to give what you can per month and help me end this ongoing misery that is fundraising. Give whatever you can, but if you find what New York Almanack does informative or entertaining, please consider giving $10 per month.

If you can’t swing that, please consider giving $5 per month ($60 per year, about 2.5 cents per story) or even $3 – surely what you read here at the Almanack is worth the cost of a fancy coffee, or a pint of beer.

I’ve expanded our ability to receive (non-tax deductible) contributions. Here are the current options, in order of our preference based on the fees they charge us:
