Saratoga Racecourse in 1907The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation is hosting two exclusive tours of the Saratoga Race Course in celebration of the Belmont Stakes, which will be held for the first time in Saratoga Springs.

Participants can join Friday, June 7 at 9:30 am or Sunday, June 9 at 9:30 am for a behind-the-scenes walking tour of the historic Saratoga Race Course with the Foundation’s Executive Director, Samantha Bosshart.

Not only will tour participants be able to see the public sides of the track – the Grandstand, the Clubhouse, and the Oklahoma Training Track – but they will also have the rare opportunity to see the original 1847 Race Course and Horse Haven.

Saratoga Race Course, the oldest organized sports venue in the country, boasts a rich and evolving history.

The Foundation plays a role in its preservation by being the only required advisory opinion for when improvements are made at Saratoga Race Course. This helps to ensure its preservation while modernizing the facilities.

The tour meets at the Whitney Viewing Stand of the Oklahoma Training Track. The cost per tour is $35 for SSPF Members and $45 for non-members. Reservations are required and space is limited. Visit www.saratogapreservation.org or call (518) 587-5030 to purchase tickets.
