3-time WWE World Champion breaks silence after taking out Cody Rhodes before Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI

Cody Rhodes was taken out on the final edition of SmackDown before Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI. His upcoming opponent, Drew McIntyre, stood tall over the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion.

McIntyre and Rhodes have been feuding for weeks. They crossed paths at the Wrestlepalooza Premium Live Event, where The American Nightmare retained his title. The rematch between them was confirmed after Jacob Fatu was unable to compete against McIntyre in a match that would’ve determined Rhodes’ next challenger.

On X, The Scottish Psychopath broke his silence after he put the champion through a table during their contract signing on SmackDown.

“For anyone else this would be a bad omen…BUT I’M NOT ANYONE ELSE,” wrote McIntyre.

McIntyre is a former 3-time WWE World Champion. His last reign with the World Title began and ended at WrestleMania XL, when he captured the World Heavyweight Championship by dethroning Seth Rollins before being dethroned himself by Damian Priest, who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.

Sam Roberts wants to see Cody Rhodes regain the title from Drew McIntyre

Sam Roberts has pitched a scenario where he wants to see Drew McIntyre win the Undisputed WWE Championship by defeating Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Speaking on the NotSam Wrestling podcast, he laid out a scenario where Rhodes would eventually regain the title from the Scotsman at the Royal Rumble 2026 Premium Live Event. He said:

“And again, I’m going back to my LA Knight thing. That doesn’t mean Drew has to go to WrestleMania as champion. That doesn’t mean Cody can’t win it back. Drew could win the title, carry it to the Royal Rumble, and Cody beats Drew at the Rumble,”

Rhodes became a two-time Undisputed WWE Champion by defeating John Cena at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event.
