Andrew Rannells, prolific Broadway actor and star of HBO’s “Girls,” is selling his Chelsea triplex. As first reported by the New York Times, Rannells paid $2.1 million for the home in 2018. Now asking $2,395,000, the renovated co-op, built in 1900, sits on a pretty Chelsea block at 443 West 24th Street, surrounded by similar historic homes. Within are three bedrooms and plenty of entertaining space, including a spacious terrace.

Rannells told the Times the co-op was his first apartment purchase in New York. “As a young student and a young, struggling actor, I never thought I’d be able to actually buy something here,” he told the newspaper.

With roughly 1,400 square feet across three floors, Rannells described the apartment as feeling “like a little house.”

“It had a cozy, homey feel to it, which was why I immediately jumped on buying it,” he told the Times. He decided to sell after spending more time in Los Angeles.

The lowest floor of the triplex features an open living space filled with southern light. A decorative marble fireplace provides a visual anchor for a frame of high ceilings and hardwood floors.

The open kitchen has worktops of gleaming white marble, a hefty farmhouse sink, a Bertazzoni four-burner range, and a Sub-Zero fridge. There is also a powder room on this floor.

On the second floor is a large bedroom with a walk-in closet and a cozy den that can work as an office or a bedroom. A washer/dryer is tucked into this floor’s well-appointed marble-clad bath.

On the third floor is a luxurious bedroom suite with a room-sized walk-in closet. The stunning skylit primary bath feels like a light-filled solarium. A private terrace on this floor offers the rare Manhattan indulgence of outdoor space with plenty of room for a rooftop garden.

The boutique co-op is an opportunity to own the best part of a townhouse. The High Line is only a block away, offering more green space in one of New York City’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
