Vancouver fans on social media were vocal after the Canucks suffered a disappointing 5–2 loss to the Calgary Flames on Sunday. The defeat marked Vancouver’s third straight loss.
Despite Filip Hronek’s early goal to take a 1–0 lead, the Canucks were unable to capitalize on that momentum and build on it for the remainder of the game. Hronek and Quinn Hughes were the only goal scorers for Vancouver in the loss.
Here’s how Canucks fans on X (formerly called Twitter) reacted to the defeat. One tweeted:
“We’re gonna lose Hughes.”
Another chimed in:
“What a pathetic performance.”
Here are some of the other top reactions on X:
“No heart. No compete. No Effort. No leadership either. Just flat out nothing. This team’s an utter waste and downright embarrassing. Pathetic,” a third fan wrote.
“Flames are a garbage team that played last night at home and had to travel to Vancouver for this game. Nucks haven’t played since Thursday. What a joke,” one X user opined.
“Awful team. But they are 2C away, right? When they trade Hughes, they need win-now pieces, right?” another user said.
“This team is embarrassing in every way possible. We hire a well know failure of a coach just to please Quinn Hugh’s and it backfires like crazy. Rebuild u fucktards,” another chimed in.
