Chelsea Green breaks character to send a heartwarming message to rising WWE star

Chelsea Green recently broke character to send an emotional message of support for a young WWE prospect. Green is currently out of action due to an ankle injury, but she remains on-screen on SmackDown.

On a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray asked Kelani Jordan why she continues to smile despite being a heel. Bully wanted Jordan to be more serious, but the former NXT Women’s North American Champion believes it’s an advantage for her.

“Sure, you can say that, but I feel like, smile or not smile, my work has proven when I talk, when I perform, who I wrestle, it doesn’t matter what stage, being in the Rumble, being at a live event, no matter what, I always go all in,” Jordan said.

Chelsea Green retweeted Kelani Jordan’s reply to Bully Ray, encouraging her to continue doing what she’s doing because it was clearly working.

“Keep the smile. ♥️,” Chelsea tweeted.

Chelsea Green knows a thing or two about getting criticized about her work despite putting it all day in and day out. Green was recently embroiled in controversy after what Michael Hayes said about her on WWE Unreal.

But regardless of what happened, the leader of The Green Regime remained positive, with the two-time Women’s United States Champion receiving support from her peers, as well as The Undertaker.

Chelsea Green opens up about Lucha Underground match against Penta

Before becoming a WWE Superstar, Chelsea Green had a brief stint at Lucha Underground as Reklusa. Green had an incredible match against Penta, which has been praised by fans over the years.

Speaking to 93.7 The Fan, Green opened up about the classic match, reflecting on the impact it has had on her career.

“That might be one of the matches that I’m known best for. That’s crazy to me because in the moment, I was just doing my job. There’s no difference to me whether I’m wrestling in front of 20 people or 20,000, a man, a woman, I’ve done it all in my career. I don’t do anything different, but then years later I realize that it made an impact or that people felt a certain way,” Green said. [H/T Fightful]

While some fans don’t appreciate Green’s current gimmick, the match against Penta proved that she can be a serious performer inside the ring when she wants to.
