The Golden State Warriors will once again feature in the play-in tournament after finishing 10th in the Western Conference with a 37-45 record. Stephen Curry reflected on his team taking the longer route into the playoffs on Sunday and offered a differing perspective from his longtime teammate Draymond Green.
Curry claimed he felt good about the play-in tournament and appreciated his team having a lifeline into the postseason as they prepare to face the Clippers in the first play-in game.
Thanks for the submission!
“I guess (we are) grateful for it now,” Curry said. “You have one game and hopefully another to keep your season alive. This is such a unique year just because of the way it’s gone. It’s not like we under performed, we have just been hit with so many injuries.”

While Curry was appreciative of the opportunity provided by the play-in tournament, his response contrasted with Draymond Green’s, who criticized the tournament’s credibility earlier this week.
“I think it worked initially, and now to have a team stuck in 10th, it ain’t working,” Green said. “We could have lost our last 15 games and been stuck in 10th, it ain’t working.
“You go on the road in a game that you need to win I think, as a competitor, you’re going to rise to the challenge. But I’m not going to sleep (Wednesday) night like, man, we got this Play-In next week, I got to get my rest. Nah, it ain’t that exciting.”
Despite the differing responses from the two stars, the Warriors will be grateful for the opportunity to remain in the postseason picture, especially after a season riddled with injuries.
Steph Curry reflects on a crucial play-in clash with the Clippers as the Warriors seek revenge for Sunday’s loss
The Golden State Warriors suffered a 115–110 loss to the LA Clippers in their final game on Sunday, finishing the regular season on a three-game losing streak. However, the two teams will meet again in the play-in tournament, as the Warriors look to exact revenge for the defeat.
Stephen Curry reflected on the upcoming play-in clash following the loss on Sunday.
“It’s going to be fun,” Curry said. “I mean, we know who they are. We’ve played them twice since the trade deadline, and it’s a little faster pace.
“So it’s just going to be about which team can get a game plan together and stick to it as much as possible.”
Curry made his second consecutive start on Sunday after returning from a long injury absence and will hope to be fully fit for the play-in tournament as the Warriors look to salvage an otherwise mediocre season.
