WWE announced it is returning to Saudi Arabia this June for Night of Champions. However, the geopolitical turbulence in the Middle East is something they have to address. Nick Khan recently spoke about it, noting that the PLE would happen only if the conditions allow.
TKO recently held a town hall meeting, during which Khan spoke about many topics. One of them was the Night of Champions PLE from Riyadh on June 27.
Thanks for the submission!
Khan claimed that at that time, WWE would go only if it is safe and allowed for U.S. citizens to enter the country. He also noted that Saudi Arabia is “deeply desirous” of having WWE back and restarting events.
“We’re only going if it’s safe or if we’re allowed there. We are monitoring with our heads of security internally and with our government affairs folks externally, the situation there. If U.S. citizens are allowed in at this moment in time, it is declared and deemed safe, we’ll all be going there. Saudi is deeply desirous of getting WWE back there and getting events restarted, especially those that come from the United States,” Nick Khan said. [H/T POST Wrestling]
WWE RAW or SmackDown will not be held after/before Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia
This year, when WWE went to Riyadh for Royal Rumble 2026, a SmackDown was held at the very stadium on Friday. Then, last year, for Night of Champions, a SmackDown for the night before the PLE was held from the same venue.
For a change, RAW was held in Riyadh after Crown Jewel 2024. This has been followed over the years: they do two shows consecutively whenever they go to Saudi Arabia.
However, this time, Khan noted that only Night of Champions would be held, with no RAW or SmackDown before or after the PLE.
