2025-2026 Taylor Raddysh report card

One of Chris Drury’s first signings in July, this season couldn’t have gone any worse for Taylor Raddysh. Raddysh was brought in to stabilize the bottom six, but quickly fell out of favor despite an early season hat trick that distracted many from his pretty bad play. Raddysh bounced up and down the lineup, but was eventually just another body playing in the bottom six until reinforcements arrived. This is rather disappointing, as Raddysh had a pretty strong 2024-2025 season with Washington before inking his two year deal with the Rangers.

Raddysh’s 9-10-19 scoring line in 68 games is in line with his career norms, but it’s the distribution that matters. Of his 19 points, 6 came in two games, the hat trick against San Jose in October and a two goal, one assist affair in December against his old team. In the 26 games in between, Raddysh contributed a goal and three assists, which is absolutely brutal even for a bottom six player.

Raddysh revived a bit with a three game point streak, all assists, in March, but eventually found himself a healthy scratch late in the season as the Rangers prioritized youth.

Taylor Raddysh’s drop off from 2024-2025 with Washington to last season with the Rangers is certainly something of note. Signing Raddysh wasn’t a bad move. Even giving him the two year contract wasn’t a bad move. If Raddysh put up the same metrics with the Rangers that he did with the Capitals, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. But his game seemingly fell off a cliff, and it was noticeable.

In the end, Taylor Raddysh was simply outplayed by youthful call ups Adam Sykora and Jaro Chmelar, waiver wire pickup Tye Kartye, and veteran Conor Sheary.

Taylor Raddysh’s Rangers future is up in the air, as it’s presumed that Drury will look to unload Raddysh on a team looking for potential bottom six value and a bounce back year. Given the options in the bottom six, it appears Raddysh is on the outside looking in based on his performance last season.
