Massive AEW Plans In Place For Dynamite; Multiple Promotions Involved

A recent update has hinted at major AEW plans in place for their television shows this week involving multiple outside promotions.

According to the latest update in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, many STARDOM and CMLL talent are set to appear on the AEW Dynamite show taking place in Cincinnati, Ohio, tonight and tomorrow. Furthermore, they will also be present at Ring of Honor’s Global Wars shows taking place on Wednesday and Thursday.

This comes on the heels of the upcoming collaborative pay-per-view, Forbidden Door 2026, where wrestlers from All Elite Wrestling, STARDOM, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and CMLL will compete in crossover and regular matches. The event has proven to be a major success for all promotions involved over the years. Moreover, the show also delivered some of the biggest dream matches in its past editions.

This year’s Forbidden Door event is set to take place on June 28 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. So it can be assumed that appearances by stars from the aforementioned promotions could lead to an exciting buildup, heading into the pay-per-view later this month.

Top AEW star wants a season heading into the Forbidden Door 2026 event

All Elite Wrestling top star Will Ospreay had an interesting idea for the Forbidden Door 2026 pay-per-view. In an interview with njpw1972.com, the Death Rider member said he wanted a season leading into the event. Ospreay wanted stars from all involved promotions to show up not just in All Elite Wrestling, but also in other companies to have an impactful buildup.

“I would love to have just a little season leading into Forbidden Door. Have everybody showing up in everyone else’s promotion, not just in AEW but in Mexico, and the UK, and Japan, and then have it all tie into this one big show where people all over the world are clamouring to buy this pay per view. AEW’s in a unique position to make that happen. That’s why I don’t like antagonism- we’re partners and together we can really show how great the world of wrestling is.”- H/T njpw1972.com

As the Forbidden Door event draws close and reports of other stars appearing in All Elite Wrestling this week, it is likely that Will Ospreay’s desire might just come true, starting from tonight’s show.
