Recent WWE Signing Drops Blockbuster Tease; NJPW Great Set For Debut?

Recently, WWE signed Naraku. He exited NJPW in January 2026. The former NJPW champion has made it clear that he signed with NXT to become the NXT Champion.

At the Great American Bash, Naraku is setting foot inside the ring against NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo. Ahead of the contract signing on Tuesday, D’Angelo and Naraku met with the contract present. They exchanged shots at each other, such as references to Naraku’s journey in NJPW with House of Torture and that Naraku’s title reigns in Japan weren’t secured solely by him.

D’Angelo left the table after signing the contract, claiming that the NXT Championship is staying with him. At the end of the promo, Naraku let out a menacing laugh while saying, “EVIL is coming”.

EVIL was his character when he worked in NJPW, also known as the “King of Darkness”. With what he said, it is being speculated that at the Great American Bash, it won’t be Naraku stepping inside the ring against Tony D’Angelo, but EVIL will make the debut.

The fans has shown interest in what Naraku said and is hoping to see NJPW’s EVIL make his debut.

WWE changed plans for Naraku ahead of his debut

After EVIL left NJPW, it was heavily speculated that he was going to sign with the global juggernaut. He had been with NJPW since 2011, and this move was a huge change.

Before his debut, a report from Bryan Alvarez from Wrestling Observer Newsletter claimed that WWE had trademarked the name ‘Nox Raijin’, which would be EVIL’s name in WWE. However, the company changed plans and revealed his name as Naraku when he made his debut.

However, despite changing plans, the name is not a swerve. The company plans on using the name for another signing. It is yet to be revealed who will be taking on the name ‘Nox Raijin’.
