Russell Banks, the chronicler of hard luck Americans, is the subject of a documentary film currently being introduced on Thursday, August 8th, at 7 pm at the Adirondack History Museum in Elizabethtown, Essex County, NY.
As described in his New York Times obituary, Banks wrote “ambitious works that sought to dismantle the unfulfilled promises of America through the gimlet eye of the white working class. Banks was a significant supporter of young writers and programs, including the NYS Writers Institute, and was co-founder of the Lake Placid Film Festival.
