AEW Star Mercedes Mone Confirms Potential WWE Return

AEW star Mercedes Mone is a modern-day great. She won the 2026 Women’s Owen Hart Cup by defeating Maya World in the finals of the tournament at Forbidden Door. She will challenge AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla at All In: London and likely dethrone her.

Mercedes Mone was signed to WWE from 2012 to 2022. She achieved immense success in the Stamford-based company, winning several World Titles. Many fans want her to rejoin the sports entertainment juggernaut. Interestingly, she recently said that she will rejoin them.

The CEO recently shared a few pictures of herself with the Women’s Owen Hart belt on Instagram. A fan asked her when she would return to WWE. The former Sasha Banks responded by confirming that she will go back when they induct her into the Hall of Fame. This means that if World Wrestling Entertainment does not add her to the prestigious fraternity, she will never rejoin them.

“when they induct me into the HOF 😍,” read her comment.

The 34-year-old recently teased a potential match with WWE legend Bayley at WrestleDream 2026. The two women had amazing matches in the Stamford-based company and are good friends in real life. If Tony Khan brings the Role Model to All Elite Wrestling, the world of professional wrestling will go berserk.

Mercedes Mone says that AEW president Tony Khan is the best boss she has ever had

In an August 2025 interview with TV Insider, Mercedes Mone showered Tony Khan with praise. She said that the AEW president was the best boss she has ever had. This was probably a shot at Vince McMahon.

“Tony Khan is the best boss I’ve had in my whole life. I love working with him. I love working for him. It has been so positive just to be around him. He brings such an energy that I’ve never experienced from a boss before. I don’t know, he makes you so happy even before you go out to the ring. He is just so energetic and passionate about wrestling. I love wrestling, and he does. So, it’s the best working with someone who loves it just as much as you do,” she said.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the CEO. Hopefully, she will become AEW Women’s World Champion at All In.
