All Diablo 4 Affix categories for Tuning Prism crafts

Diablo 4’s Horadric Cube uses Tuning Prisms to apply a wide array of Affixes to your gear. This is more functional than using the Blacksmith to add affixes, because there are way more options, and it’s much easier to access. The downside is, unless you know exactly what Tuning Prisms you need for which stats you desire, you can waste a lot of time and brick your gear, making it unmodifiable, or just useless for your current needs.

Thankfully, we now know what each category of Affix has, and what Tuning Prism they’re connected to. If you’re trying to figure out what Tuning Prisms you need to use for specific Affixes in Diablo 4, we’re here to help.

All Diablo 4 Affixes for Tuning Prism, and what category they’re in

There are several categories of Tuning Prism in Diablo 4, and each one affects a different category of Affixes while operating the Horadric Cube. Many of these are used in the Transfigure category, where you can adjust the affixes a piece of gear already has, to try and gamble your way into something more useful. For example, Apocalypse Warlocks want 100% Crit Chance if possible.

That means we’re going to want to hunker down on those Offensive (Aggressive Tuning Prisms) and try to make the most use out of them. Since each Tuning Prism covers a wide array of potential stats, it all comes down to just how lucky you are. A decent way to get more of these materials is to use the War Plans system, and look out for rewards that grant Horadric Cube materials.

Aggressive Tuning Prisms focus on Offensive stats, but I cannot stress enough that they do not cover Core Stats or Skills. Many players have wasted precious materials trying to do that. Instead, those are found on Adept’s Tuning Prism.

Some players have made the mistake in thinking that the Resource Prisms give Resistance to All, but that comes from the Protector’s Tuning Prism in Diablo 4. This is where all of the defensive options are housed. From specific resistances, to the incredibly useful Life on Hit, if you want to focus on staying alive, this is the Tuning Prism to consider.

Protector’s Tuning Prism (Defensive)

  • Max Life
  • Life Regen
  • Life on Hit
  • Armor
  • Resistance to All Elements
  • Fire Resist
  • Cold Resist
  • Lightning Resist
  • Poison Resist

Pragmatic Tuning Prisms cover two very specific Affixes, Utility and Mobility in Diablo 4. You’ll find Movement Speed, Lucky Hit Chance, Cooldown Reduction in the same place as Impairment Reduction and Evade Grants Movement Speed. Albeit a bit cluttered, it’s still a pretty useful Tuning Prism.

Pragmatic Tuning Prism (Utility)

  • Potion Capacity
  • Lucky Hit Chance
  • Healing Received
  • Fortify Gen
  • CDR
  • Impairment Reduction

Pragmatic Tuning Prism (Mobility)

  • Movement Speed
  • Attacks Reduce Evade CD
  • Max Evade Charge
  • Evade Grants Movement Speed

Resourceful Tuning Prisms, as their name implies, focus on increasing your resources. Whatever that resource may be, it’s going to help you keep it going, or recover it once it’s lost. This is also where you’ll find the specific Lucky Hit for Restore Primary Resource.

Resourceful (Resource)

  • Max Resource
  • (Resource) every X Kills
  • (Resource) Generation
  • Resource Cost Reduction
  • Resource Generation
  • Lucky Hit Restore Primary Resource

Kullean Tuning Prisms are unique in that they don’t have specific Affixes they cover in Diablo 4, but they’re for adding random Legendary Affixes to your gear. Unlike Entropic Prisms, you can still modify a piece of gear after using one of these, which is nice. However, Kullean Tuning Prisms are only usable on Amulets.

Entropic Tuning Prisms are the final piece of the puzzle. When you apply this, it removes the absolute worst, and absolute best possible outcomes from the Tuning process. You can still get bad choices, but it won’t be the absolute worst thing imaginable. However, this comes at a cost: You can never modify this piece of gear again. This should never be done except as the final part of modifying your gear, never before that.
