Drew McIntyre may have won the Undisputed WWE Championship, but his string of bad luck continues. He suffered yet another loss when he put his gold on the line on January 20th.
Drew McIntyre suddenly loses the Undisputed WWE Championship Match
Thanks for the submission!
WWE wrapped up its European tour tonight, with the last non-televised event at the Forest National in Brussels, Belgium.
The house show was headlined by Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes battling it out for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
This marked their fourth singles meeting since The Scotsman conquered The American Nightmare in a Three Stages of Hell Match on the January 9, 2025, episode of SmackDown in Berlin, Germany.
Rhodes defeated McIntyre each time, but the title didn’t change hands because the Scotsman disqualified himself on every occasion to retain his throne.
Last night was no different, as Cody Rhodes had nearly won the title when Drew McIntyre used unfair means to retain his Undisputed WWE Championship. The Scottish Warrior clobbered his opponent’s head with the title, forcing the referee Jessika Carr to call for the bell.
The American Nightmare was declared the winner via Disqualification, but unfortunately, he didn’t walk out with the title. Rhodes sent fans home happy after putting McIntyre through a table in the post-match shenanigans.

Cody Rhodes is forging his way after Drew McIntyre revealed that he won’t get a rematch as per the hidden clause that was added to their contract a few weeks ago.
The American Nightmare will now be entering the 30-Man Battle Royal in Saudi Arabia in hopes of tying Stone Cold Steve Austin’s record for most Royal Rumble wins.
Rhodes won back-to-back Royal Rumble matches in 2023 and 2024. Will he make history in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia? Only time will tell.
Cody Rhodes is also scheduled to wrestle at Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 24, where he will lock horns with Jacob Fatu in a singles match.
The two men have been at each other’s throats since the Samoan Werewolf accidentally cost the American Nightmare his Undisputed Title on SmackDown.
As for Drew McIntyre, he will have his first official title defense at the Royal Rumble against the winner of the Fatal 4-Way Match between Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, Trick Williams, and Damian Priest.
