This week, two smartphone families are on sale – the Poco F8 duo and three Pixel 10 phones. The Pocos offer faster chipsets and bigger batteries, while the Pixels are first in line for new Android features.
A couple of weeks ago, a 16/512GB Poco F8 Ultra was selling for €750. Now it costs the same, but Amazon also restocked the 12/256GB variant, which goes for €680. The Ultra has a large 6.9” 12-bit 120Hz OLED display, is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and boasts a 6,500mAh battery (18:52h Active Use Score) with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
It is also equipped with serious camera hardware – the 50MP main has a 1/1.31” sensor, there’s a 50MP 5x/115mm periscope and a 50MP ultra-wide (102°), plus a 32MP selfie camera. The sound system is noteworthy too with 2.1-channel Bose speakers (yes, the phone has a built-in woofer).
The Poco F8 Pro is the more affordable model – you can check out our detailed Poco F8 Pro vs. F8 Ultra article for an in-depth comparison. In short, it has a smaller 6.59” 12-bit 120Hz OLED display, a 6,210mAh battery (17:35h) with 100W wired-only charging and last year’s top Qualcomm chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The camera system consists of a 50MP 1/1.55” main, a 50MP 2.5x/60mm telephoto and an 8MP ultra-wide.
Note that the 512GB Pro costs the same as the 256GB version – this is a timed deal and it may expire by the time you read this. Do check, though, as the 512GB model has not only double the storage, but it also has 4 gigs of extra RAM. That’s a pretty great upgrade to get at no extra cost.
You can pick up a Google Pixel 10 for €800. It uses the same Tensor G5 and the same size 6.3” display as the Pixel 10 Pro (same size, but lower resolution and it’s not an LTPO panel).
The phone combines a 48MP 1/2.0” main with a 13MP ultra-wide and, for the first time on a vanilla Pixel, a dedicated telephoto camera – a 10.8MP 5x/112mm module. The 4,970mAh battery achieves an Active Use Score of 12:08h (disappointing for its size) and supports 30W wired plus 15W wireless charging.
You should also consider the more capable Pixel Pro models, though they will cost you. The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL has a solid €350 discount, which makes its price more palatable. It features a large 6.8” LTPO display and a 5,200mAh battery that got a 12:29h Active Use Score.
The Pro XL has more capable cameras than the vanilla model too, including a 50MP 1/1.31” main, 48MP 5x/113mm periscope and 48MP ultra-wide, plus a 42MP selfie with an ultra-wide lens.
Unfortunately, the 256GB variant of the Pixel 10 Pro is out of stock, while the 512GB version costs essentially the same as the Pro XL version. Still, if you want a smaller phone, this one offers a 6.3” display (1280p+ LTPO vs. 1080p+ LTPS on the vanilla Pixel 10) and a 4,870mAh battery (12:06h). The cameras are the same as on the Pro XL.
