“‘ENHYPEN IS ENHYPEN’ – Fans outraged after ‘6 or 7’ comments and hate flood Jay’s birthday live amid Heeseung’s departure controversy

ENHYPEN member Jay addressed disruptive fan comments during a livestream as ongoing discussions around Heeseung’s departure continued to surface online. The singer went live on Weverse on April 20, 2026, to celebrate his birthday with fans.

The livestream, held on Weverse, began in a celebratory tone and ran for over an hour. However, the mood shifted midway as the idol addressed a wave of disruptive comments from viewers referencing the group’s former seven-member lineup.

While many fans filled the chat with birthday wishes, a significant number of comments focused on former member Heeseung and his departure from the group. The exit, which took place on March 10, continued to spark discussion among fans, with some calling for the decision to be reconsidered. These demands extended across social media platforms and into the comment sections of group-related content.

During the live broadcast, Jay’s comment section saw waves of messages such as “777,” “ENHYPEN IS 7,” “touch your nose if you miss Heeseung,” “do you miss Heeseung?” and “his first birthday without Heeseung,” among others. As the comments persisted, Jay paused the celebratory atmosphere to respond directly.

Addressing viewers, the eldest member of the group said that while he personally tried to ignore such remarks and did not feel affected, he was concerned about how similar comments could impact other members, particularly on occasions like their birthdays.

“Some of you guys just like, you don’t care about what the situation is going on. Some of you just keep saying 6, 7, 6 or 7, ENHYPEN is what? NENHYPEN is what? Like, I am okay, I actually don’t care, ENHYPEN is ENHYPEN, like I actually don’t care. I always try my best to ignore that, so I am okay. But don’t do that to other members, especially at their birthdays. I am okay, but please don’t do that to others,” said Jay.

He emphasised that although fans were free to think what they want, repeatedly posting such messages during personal celebrations could be hurtful, saying,

“I really don’t want them to feel that on their birthdays, just thinking is totally free, but if you’re saying that on someone’s birthday, I am saying this again, I am okay. I feel good with all my fans, today was such a happy birthday for me. But I am really nervous that what if other members would feel like depressed in this situation, I really am scared for that. I don’t want that to happen in the future.”

He also urged viewers to be mindful of the ongoing situation and the context surrounding it.

“One thing I want to say is, let’s see the situation. Let’s look around, okay at what is going on,” the singer added.

Following the livestream, clips of this moment circulated widely on social media. Many fans expressed frustration and disappointment toward those who continued posting the comments despite the group moving forward as six members. One fan wrote,

“ENHYPEN IS ENHYPEN As long as there is ENHYPEN, there is engene who will always be by your side. Enhypen will only have success in near future. & happy birthday again to our rock star FUEL OF HAPPINESS WITH JAY”

@ENHYPEN_members ENHYPEN IS ENHYPEN As long as there is ENHYPEN, there is engene who will always be by your side. Enhypen will only have success in near future. & happy birthday again to our rock star🔥 FUEL OF HAPPINESS WITH JAY #JAYKeepsTheENGENEsON #이_순간_종성의_세계야

Fans expressed frustration, saying people keep ignoring what was clearly asked during the live. Many noted that reducing the group to numbers only adds pressure. They stressed the group should be respected as they are, adding it was upsetting that Jay had to speak up on his birthday because some fans refuse to accept the situation.

Here comes enhypen’s oldest member having to SPEAK UP on his BIRTHDAY because people cannot accept the reality. Enhypen is Enhypen please be respectful and stop trying to push YOUR reality into the members they are TIRED!!!!!!!!!!

“they’re talking about 6” “he’s referring to 7” guys, just stop. he’s saying this to everyone. they’re tired of being reduced to a number, and you’re repeating exactly what he asked you to stop doing. enhypen is Enhypen, and that’s it. just stop it, you’re not helping

“ENHYPEN is ENHYPEN” Clock it. Being an engene means you have to support enhypen as a group and respect Heeseung’s individuality as a solo artist. Im so proud of Jay for addressing these stubborn ot7s

Many fans supported Jay’s response, noting how the celebration was repeatedly disrupted. Acknowledging that people were free to support whoever they chose, they urged others to stop placing pressure on the remaining members and allow the group to move forward.

He left and the six stayed. He’s busy with his solo debut and the other six are preparing for their concert. If you want to support him, then go. No one’s stopping you. BUT give the members who stayed a break. Stop ruining the group that they are trying to make work and continue.

In all my years of kpop, I’ve never seen a fandom as embarrassing as this. Babying the one who left while harassing the members that stayed. What kind of backward logic is that??

Boycotters who refuse to accept reality have been harassing the 6 members since March. Just stop already.

They keep getting spammed “7” when they’re a 6 member grp. Ot7s and boycotters should be ashamed
