Ex-WWE star Karrion Kross wins World Heavyweight Championship

Former WWE Superstar Karrion Kross recently achieved a major accomplishment in the professional wrestling world. The star has become a World Heavyweight Champion.

Karrion Kross’ first stint in World Wrestling Entertainment lasted for only a year. After competing on the independent circuit, including MLW, he returned to the Stamford-based promotion in 2022. In his second stint, the former Final Testament leader became a fan favorite, with many wanting him to win a major singles title. However, he never received the push that the audience wanted and was surprisingly let go after his contract expired in August 2025.

Since leaving the TKO-led promotion, the 40-year-old has been competing under the ring name Killer Kross. At MLW Battle Riot, Kross locked horns with 39 different participants, including former WWE stars Matt Riddle and Dijak, for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship in a Royal Rumble-esque format.

The former Final Testament leader put on an incredible display of action inside the ring and went on to win the match to become the new MLW World Heavyweight Champion.
