The Smugglers quest in Windrose is one of the more challenging Faction missions you’ll be undertaking for Long Ben, whom you’ve already met in Underground Network. The recommended character level is nine (9), which means you’ll have to be prepared for combat. Healing Potions and Save Points will be things you’ll need to look into.
The crux of the Smugglers quest in Windrose is that Long Ben is worried about his tavern in Tortuga running out of wine. While pirates and sea-faring folk usually prefer rum (as is custom), wine is the new hip commodity, and supplies are dwindling. However, the larger problem at hand is that too many Smugglers of Port Royal (Faction) are going missing, and too many crates are turning up empty.
This is where you come in to help uncover the truth and ensure that Long Ben’s supply of wine is delivered to the tavern unimpeded. After all, with Blackbeard and his lackeys running amok, it helps to have something to drown the sorrows in after a hard day’s work.
The Smugglers quest in Windrose walkthrough

Before we jump into the detailed walkthrough, here’s a summary of things you’ll need to do to complete the quest, alongside the list of rewards:
- Talk to the leader of the Smugglers
- Find and search Marita’s missing ship
- Return to Marita
- Recover the stolen cargo
- Return the wine to Marita
Once you complete the Smugglers quest in Windrose, you will be rewarded with Piastre (×150), Letter of Favor (×10), and Decoration: Iron Lamps.
Talk to the leader of the Smugglers

Long Ben’s tavern is running out of wine fast. We already know that the Smugglers of Port Royal are having a hard time doing their job, thanks to Blackbeard. But more recently, people and caches are going missing, which is rather alarming. As such, you are tasked to go talk to Marita, whom you’ve already met once before.
Find and search Marita’s missing ship

After you talk to Marita Suarez during the Smugglers quest in Windrose, she will inform you that the ship carrying Ben’s cargo is long overdue. It has gone missing, and she would like to know where. Given that the archipelago is massive, ships go missing all the time, but Marita has eyes everywhere, and she knows where her ship, The Hunchback Pilgrim, could be.

For the next step on the Smugglers quest in Windrose, you’ll have to sail to the mission marker to find the ship. It’s seemingly undamaged and afloot, but something is off. The smell of death is upon the deck, and you see suspicious figures loitering about. As you board the vessel, combat ensues, and after a brief tussle, you best the pirates.

After defeating the pirates, when you head down to the lower deck, your worst fears are realized; the entire crew has been killed, and the cargo has been stolen. While you may have avenged them, their souls are now lost to Davy Jones’ Locker.
Return to Marita

With nothing left to do on the ship, for the next part of the Smugglers quest in Windrose, you will have to return to Marita and inform her of what’s transpired. She’ll task you with recovering the stolen goods, which are mostly Ben’s wine.
Recover the stolen cargo
Being the lead of the Smugglers of Port Royale, Marita knows things, which include the potential location of where the stolen wine could be. Eddie Low, a pirate associated with Blackbeard, had also ordered wine in the past, but eventually, things came to a halt.
Given that he knew the route the ship usually took, Marita suspects he may be behind the attack on her vessel. His camp is located in the Foothills, and you can find it by following the mission marker. Once you get rid of the pirates defending the loot, you can recover the Contraband Wine and leave.
Return the wine to Marita

Once you ‘rescue’ the wine from the pirates, to complete the Smugglers quest in Windrose, you’ll need to return to Marita and hand it over to her. She’ll thank you for the help and ensure that the wine will be personally delivered to Ben Long to avoid any more delays.
