The Corrupted Reaper is the latest Lair Boss added to Diablo 4 in Season 14, and while we do not know if she will stick around like the Butcher did, they’re an important battle. Only unlocked after wrapping the season, the Corrupted Reaper is a really interesting fight. Considering the rewards, she’s ranked among the Greater Lair Boss tier, but the fight itself isn’t as challenging as Duriel or Andariel.

How to summon Corrupted Reaper Lair Boss in Diablo 4
Corrupted Reaper is a Lair Boss in Diablo 4 that can only spawn after you complete the final quests for Season 14, Rising Tide, Setting Sun // The Looming Night. Once you’ve done this, and are at least on Torment I (though higher Torment difficulties yield greater rewards), you can summon this boss.
Just head back to Zarbinzet and enter the Pandemonium Rift, and you can walk right up to the summon pedestal. You do not need any materials to actually summon the Corrupted Reaper, but you do need a Greater Lair Key to open the cache she drops at the end of the battle.
How to beat the Corrupted Reaper in Diablo 4
The Corrupted Reaper is not as powerful as the other bosses on the Superior Lair Key tier (Belial, et al) in Diablo 4, that’s for sure. She has several attacks to keep an eye out for, and perhaps the most annoying are the Soul Traps. She sets them around the room, and standing on them activates them, and inflicts a slow. After a delay, they explode.
Below are a list of important attacks that the Corrupted Reaper will use in this fight. She’s very mobile, and can trigger lots of AOE explosions, and if she dashes through the Soul Traps, she can trigger them herself. This leads to huge groups of explosions, and if you’re caught in them, it can spell your end.
- Teleport: When the Corrupted Reaper squats in place, she leaps down, typically to the center of the map. When she lands, she creates a huge AOE.
- Soul Traps: She will lay down three Soul Traps around the room. You can trigger these yourself to get them off the board, if you have a good enough movement ability.
- Soul Shots: Corrupted Reaper fires a wave of slow-moving projectiles. It starts out as four, and increases the number in phase 2.
- Soul Dash: Corrupted Reaper dashes in a straight line, and will trigger any Soul Traps along the path. She does it just once or twice in phase 1, but in Phase 2 and Phase 3, this increases. Just stay mobile, because they will track where you are. Try not to lead her through any Traps, unless they’re far away.
- Trap Rush: Later in the fight, the Corrupted Reaper will start laying down lines of Soul Traps, and then quickly dash through them to create huge groups of explosions. Just stay moving and out of these as best you can.
This isn’t a hard fight if you can keep moving. At lower Torment difficulties, she is a quick fight, but the damage gets outrageous in the higher Torment levels, so consider that. The most important thing is to not let too many Soul Traps stay on the screen at once. It limits your ability to maneuver, since you don’t want to take damage by being in that area. However, once you defeat her, you can open the cache, and claim your rewards.
What potential loot does the Corrupted Reaper drop in Diablo 4?
At this time, we have no idea if there is a specific loot table for the Corrupted Reaper in Diablo 4. However, she does have the highest chance of any encounter to drop Mythic Uniques.
She also drops Pandemonium Fragments in her cache as well, alongside at least one 850 Item Level piece of gear. The higher the Torment difficulty, the more/better rewards you receive. She’s the best way to get these Fragments, so you’re gonna be fighting this boss quite a few times.
