Star India opener Abhishek Sharma gave the team a pep talk during a training session ahead of their T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 clash against South Africa. The game is scheduled to be played on Sunday, February 22, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

While Abhishek Sharma was delivering his pep talk in the team huddle, his opening partner, Ishan Kishan, stood right beside him. The wicketkeeper batter was listening to his teammate with keen interest. However, he appeared in a jovial mood at the same time.

Ishan Kishan could be seen trying hard to control his laughter, which was evident from his facial expressions.

Abhishek Sharma has been far from his best in the T20 World Cup 2026 so far. In the three games he has played, he has failed to open his account, registering three consecutive ducks. The left-hander will be desperate to not only get off the mark against South Africa but also regain his form heading into a crucial phase of the tournament.

During his pep talk, Abhishek Sharma reflected how India have been winning all games so far, which is a sign of a champion team. He urged his teammates to continue enjoying each other’s performances and added that they were there to win all the games.

“It’s a sign of a champion team. Let’s just keep enjoying each other’s performances. That’s the best thing we are doing right now. The energy we are showing in all the games is fantastic. We are here to win all the games so let’s just keep enjoying it,” he said.

India are unbeaten in the competition heading into the Super 8s. They won all four of their initial matches and topped Group A. The Men in Blue will be eager to carry the momentum forward and continue their dominating display. Notably, they won the previous editition of the T20 Wold Cup in 2024 without having lost a single game. They will aim to repeat the feat and defend their title this time around.
