A popular AEW star is seemingly injured and pulled from a show. He was later seen limping and needed to use crutches to walk.
Místico is a popular name in AEW and has competed in several matches for the promotion. The masked luchador recently aggravated a nagging injury he had been working through. This forced him to pull out of his scheduled appearances. The injury flared up during a recent match in Monterrey.
This week, CMLL issued a public statement declaring that Místico was officially withdrawn from the May 18, 2026 Arena Puebla event due to medical instructions. He was replaced by Esfinge in the featured bouts. The promotion thanked Puebla fans for their understanding the unforeseen accident and expressing hope that Místico’s recovery would be swift and he would soon return to action in the legendary Arena Puebla. Later the King of White and Gold showed up to Puebla on crutches and looked to be in discomfort after the injury. The pictures went viral on social media, with fans praying for the 43-year-old star’s quick recovery.
Místico had already been out of action from AEW due to an injury
Back in March 2026, CMLL announced that Místico would be sidelined for roughly two weeks due to an injury. During the March 26 episode of CMLL Informa, the AEW star and Dr. Roberto Rodriguez provided more details on the situation. The luchador reportedly suffered a partial tear in his right tricep along with ligament damage in his right ankle. Fortunately, the injuries were not too serious meaning that he would be ready for action in a few weeks.
Místico revealed that the arm injury originally happened while he was wrestling in Japan back in February. He continued working through the pain to fulfill his scheduled appearances, but doctors warned that doing so further could eventually require surgery.
Due to the setback, Mistico missed multiple upcoming appearances, including MLW Battle Riot VII, where he was scheduled to defend the MLW World Middleweight Championship against Templario.
This another injury flaring up, the star may be expected to recover through rest, rehab, and medication over the next two to three weeks.
We at Sportskeeda Wrestling wish Místico a quick and speedy recovery.
