Final Fantasy XIV’s Make It Rain 2026 event is now available in-game, and it’s more than just free bonus MGP! The quest that comes with this year’s quest comes with an adorable Otter Minion as well as an Otter backpack, that some players may be familiar with. It was unlockable early, thanks to a glitch, and while Square Enix removed it once they realized that was happening, you can now unlock it normally!
The Make It Rain 2026 event campaign is available in Final Fantasy XIV between May 29 and June 24, 2026. If you want to know what you need to do for this year’s quest, and what you can unlock, we’re here to help.
How to take part in Make It Rain 2026 event in Final Fantasy XIV
Final Fantasy XIV’s Make It Rain campaign for 2026 is now available for players, and if you want to take part in the event’s new quest, you need to meet certain requirements. Thankfully, they aren’t too hard to meet! You just need to be level 15 and have completed It Could Happen To You, which is the quest that unlocks the Gold Saucer in the first place.
Once you have done this, head to Ul’dah (Steps of Nald, 9.4, 9.1), and speak to Ollier, to pick up the You Otter Be There quest. Like previous encounters with Ollier, he needs your help with a matter, and it’s to help advertise for the Make It Rain campaign.
Quest Steps
- Speak with Ollier at Gold Court
- Speak with Ollier once more
- Rendezvous with Usosuke while in uniform
- While in uniform, speak with Usosuke at his next destination
- While in uniform, speak with Usosuke at his third destination
- Speak with Ajisai
- Speak with Ollier at the Gold Saucer
The first step is to head to the Gold Court in Ul’dah, which is near the Gladiator Fast Travel. Once you arrive, you’ll see this year’s festivities. This year, it’s Otter themed. Like in the real world, the Make It Rain campaign also gives the people in Eorzea bonuses for playing at the Gold Saucer.
It’s going to be up to us to help spread the good word of this year’s festivities, and show people the cute Otters in suits (Globe-trotter Otters). You will need to make a dialogue choice with Ajisai, during the cutscene, but they’re all cute and harmless options. After the initial cutscene ends, speak with Ollier again, and Ajisai will say you need to take the Otter around, and get in uniform, and entice people to come to the Gold Saucer.
The Final Fantasy XIV Make It Rain 2026 event quest requires you to use transformation to change, and if you stray too far from the objectives, or lose the buff, you’ll have to return to Ollier to get the buff back. You have a half hour, which is plenty of time. Since you can’t use fast travel right now, run to the Sapphire Avenue Exchange to rendezvous with Usosuke while in this transformed uniform.
When you arrive, you’ll see the adorable Otter already there enticing people to the Gold Saucer. After interacting with him, you’ll need to make another dialogue choice with the girl who is standing there:
- There’s plenty of Chocobos to meet at the racetrack.
- Their mascot’s a lovable, huggable Sabotender!
- There’s a special strategy game just for Mammets and minions!
Any choice should be fine, but the girl seemed especially excited about choice #3. After this, the Delighted Daughter and her mother will leave, saying they need to talk to the child’s father about taking an outing to the Gold Saucer.
While in uniform, speak with Usosuke at his next destination, which is just southeast of the Weaver’s guild. This will involve a chat with a Fashion-minded fellow, and once again, you’ll have some choices:
- You can exchange MGP for all manner of unique garments.
- You can gain an appreciation for the Manderville aesthetic!
- You’ll love Masked Rose’s fashion report.

Once again, we chose choice #3, but you can pick whichever you think is best. The fashion competition did seem to pique the person’s interest. Afterwards, follow Usosuke once again, this time to just outside the Goldsmith’s guild. This one involves speaking to a man wearing a Cactuar earring.
You’ll have just two choices here at first, and either one is correct. I asked if this person knew Manderville personally. They’ll talk about being Ala Mhigan refugees, and despite the calamity of Dalamud haunting them, they helped work on the Gold Saucer after the calamity occurred.
After this rather sad, but hopeful conversation, speak with Ajisai back at the Gold Court. In a rather cute moment, Usosuke reveals to Ajisai that he wants to learn the Senor Sabotender pose. This quest will wrap up at the Gold Saucer, and you will be right where you need to be after the cutscene, so speak with Ollier to complete the Make It Rain 2026 campaign quest in Final Fantasy XIV.
Just watch the cutscene, and Godbert Manderville himself will show up! He’ll thank you for helping spread the good word of the Make It Rain campaign. He’ll reward you with a Mammet that’s been designed to look like Usosuke, who also does a little Senor Sabotender pose. This wraps up the quest, but the bonus to MGP will last for the whole event!
What rewards are available for the Make It Rain 2026 event in Final Fantasy XIV?
By completing the Make It Rain 2026 event quest, you’ll receive several rewards in Final Fantasy XIV: The “Golden Globe-trotter” achievement, as well as the Senor Otter minion and Senor Otter backpack (equippable in Fashion Accessories tab). If you want the advertisement furnishings, speak to the Campaign Attendant (Gold Saucer, 5.4, 6.3).
There are plenty of other rewards that are purchasable here, but these should be available year-round. However, whether or not you do the quest, for the duration of this event, you’ll receive +50% MGP from anything that rewards MGP! That is what makes this event so special and important.
