I guess this is what the Rangers are? After a surprisingly strong win in Dallas and start against Carolina yesterday, the Rangers just didn’t know how to deal with a push from Canes in the second and third periods, losing 3-1. It seems as soon as there’s any sign of adversity, the wheels fall off for the Rangers. It’s inexcusable at this point.
Oddly enough, it’s the powerplay that is killing the Rangers at the moment, not their 5v5 play. They’ve been…okay?…at 5v5, but the powerplay can’t score at all and has become stale. That’s a major problem for a team so reliant on powerplay scoring. Even if the 5v5 play is fine, you can’t win without scoring on the powerplay.
Nothing screams helping the powerplay like scratching Chris Kreider though.
