NY Rangers Game 53: Rangers vs Boston

The Rangers are back at it tonight in a must win against the Bruins at MSG. From a standings perspective, the Rangers don’t *technically* need to win this game because they can still find a way to 95 points without it. But for all intents and purposes, it’s a must win game as Boston is one of the teams furthest ahead of the Rangers, so losing ground would be near catastrophic to their playoff hopes.

The Bruins are playing much better than their roster would suggest, but their -23 goal differential means they are playing over their heads and are very beatable. This is a team that shouldn’t be ahead of the Rangers in the standings–much like most teams ahead of them–yet, for some reason, is. The Rangers need to get things moving in the right direction, and there’s no better time to do it than now.
