NY Rangers Game 66: Rangers at Minnesota

The Rangers are in Minnesota tonight to take on another playoff team in the Minnesota Wild. At this point, the Rangers need a miracle to make the playoffs, essentially running the table to pass the two teams ahead of them (Montreal, Columbus), of which only one is in the playoffs. Unfortunately, miracles require changes, and aside from a winger swap, it’s the same lineup that keeps losing.

If I were running the Rangers, I’d shut down Adam Fox and Chris Kreider for the year. Let them get healthy for a return next year (Fox) and a trade in the offseason (Kreider). Let the kids play and see which ones you want to keep. Let Carson Soucy try to figure it out to see if he’s worth keeping. At this point, punt the season.

What a disappointment.
