ONE 173: “It’s the perfect stage for me”

Japanese striking superstar Nadaka Yoshinari has won everywhere he has competed, but admitted that a ONE world title eclipses everything he’s accomplished.

The 10-time Muay Thai world champion will vie for the inaugural ONE atomweight Muay Thai world championship against Thailand’s Numsurin Chor Ketwina this Sunday, Nov. 16, at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

After claiming belts at Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadium, the 24-year-old is eager to collect the only missing hardware in his trophy case.

Speaking to ONE Championship, Nadaka did not downplay the magnitude of this fight for his legacy:

“In view of this context and trajectory of my career, I tried to set new goals, and ONE Championship really stood out. It’s a top-tier organization where the best stand-up fighters and MMA fighters from around the world vie for championship and glory. I feel it’s the perfect stage for me to prove the skills I’ve cultivated so far.”

Signing with ONE has always been a goal for Nadaka, as he joins a strong Japanese contingent that has taken over the promotion’s kickboxing ranks.

The only non-Thai fighter to win titles in three different divisions at Rajadamnern Stadium has already proven his greatness with three dominant victories in the home of martial arts.

Nadaka says ONE world title will be the biggest accomplishment of his career

Nadaka has already won everywhere but admits the ONE Championship belt will define his legacy.

Now, the Japanese star is one win away from etching his name in the history books.

The Eiwa Sports Gym affiliate said in the same interview with the promotion:

“As for my next challenge, winning the ONE belt would be a huge asset for me personally. So, I’m approaching this fight determined to give everything I’ve got all the skills and experience I’ve forged until now.”
