    Undefeated flyweight kickboxing sensation Hyu Iwata says fans should not look further when it comes to Japan’s next martial arts superstar.

    The 23-year-old extended his pristine record to 13-0 at ONE Fight Night 41 last March 13, registering his most definitive finish yet against Suablack Tor Pran49 of Thailand.

    Hyu dazzled the pro-Thai crowd at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok over the weekend. He dropped the Thai powerhouse thrice with ballistic body shots that shook Suablack’s core.

    A devastating left knee to the liver was the nail in the coffin, as Hyu extended his promotional winning streak to five and cashed in another massive US$50,000 performance bonus.

    Now, the Osaka native hopes that performance will erase all doubts about him being a legitimate contender in the stacked flyweight kickboxing division.

    Moreover, the Team Mehdi Zatout and TEAM3K affiliate made his case as the next combat sports superstar to banner Japan’s flag to the world.

    “Mr. Chatri, thank you very much. Now, I know you make Japanese stars, but that one is here, already here. Only me. I prove that the Japanese [star] is right in front of your eyes,” he said during his post-fight interview with Mitch Chilson.

    With four consecutive highlight finishes against top-notch opponents on the global stage, it’s hard to deny Hyu’s credentials.

    With ONE bringing martial arts glory back to Japan through the monthly ONE Samurai series, all eyes will be on Hyu.
