Parx Casino in Bensalem, north of Philadelphia, has finally opened a hotel.

Two decades after Parx parent Greenwood Racing told the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board that its master plan included an on-site hotel, the casino has finally carried out the pledge.
After acquiring the nearby Inn at Fox Chase in 2024, located across the parking lot from the standalone casino, Greenwood embarked on a full renovation of the hotel into Parxview. The Parxview Hotel has 160 rooms, including 16 suites.
Parxview Hotel represents an exciting new chapter for our property and our guests,” said Eric Hausler, Parx Casino CEO. “This hotel transforms Parx into a true overnight destination, allowing guests to enjoy everything we offer, from gaming and dining to live entertainment, while enjoying the comfort and sophistication of a premier hotel experience.”
Parx will run a free shuttle service to and from the casino and Parxview Hotel. The Parxview Hotel offers The Bistro, a full-service restaurant and bar. The renovated outdoor pool is slated to open by late May.
The hotel also has a fully equipped fitness center. And, like the casino, the hotel is 100% smoke-free.
Parx Casino offers 3,000 slot machines, 140 live dealer table games, and a sportsbook. The casino additionally features eight restaurants and bars, the Xcite Center, and a horse racetrack with parimutuel wagering. The destination in Bensalem is located about 15 miles northeast of downtown Philadelphia.
Skill Games Halted Hotel Plan
Parx had plans to construct a from-the-ground-up 300-room hotel, but Greenwood scrapped the idea amid the ongoing proliferation of unregulated slot-like skill games in the commonwealth.
Parx called off its $100 million hotel construction after state courts ruled that skill games are not subject to the Pennsylvania Gaming Act because they involve elements of skill and are not solely based on chance.
The legality of skill games was debated before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court last fall. The state’s highest court has not yet issued its decision.
Even if the Supreme Court says the games are illegal, there is legislation in Harrisburg to legalize and create a regulatory and tax framework for the machines. Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) has repeatedly called on the General Assembly to send him legislation to codify skill games to raise government revenue.
Richest Casino in Commonwealth
Parx has been dominating Pennsylvania’s in-person casino market for years.
In 2025, Parx’s slots won $374.7 million. Its table games won $199.2 million for a combined haul of more than $573.9 million. The casino represented a 17% market share in the state’s 17-casino industry. Wind Creek Bethlehem was second at $526 million.
Parx and its sister satellite venue, Parx Casino Shippensburg, a Cat. 4 mini-casino, are the only smoke-free casinos in Pennsylvania.
In addition to its in-person operations, Parx Casino generated gross gaming revenue of $66.6 million from iGaming and $13.3 million from sports betting in 2025.
