Rangers make 4 roster moves to address injuries and poor energy

The Rangers have made 4 roster moves to address the many injuries and poor energy on the team. The Rangers have recalled forward Brett Berard and goalie Dylan Garand. To make room for both call ups, the Rangers have returned defenseman Scott Morrow to Hartford and placed defenseman Will Borgen on IR with an upper body injury.

Berard had a slow start to his season in Hartford but has quickly turned things around. Given how lackluster the Rangers have looked, his energy will be a big help. JT Miller’s injury also doesn’t help things right now.

Garand’s recall likely means Jonathan Quick is hurt after taking a bump at the end of the Utah game on Saturday night. It’s unlikely Garand plays, so expect Igor Shesterkin to get all the starts until Quick is ready to return.

Morrow played in three games for the Rangers and was very ineffective. His recall was needed due to the Borgen injury, though his return to Hartford means the Rangers only have six defensemen at the moment.
