Somewhat related to the JT Miller injury, the Rangers have recalled forwards Jaro Chmelar and Juuso Parssinen. With Miller heading to IR and Vincent Trocheck heading out the door, the Rangers do need forwards to fill out the roster. Chmelar looked fine enough in a fourth line role during his first call up. Parssinen hasn’t exactly been great, but he’s a body to fill in the bottom six while the Rangers wrap up the season.
It’s disappointing that Scott Morrow was barely used by Mike Sullivan. Perhaps after the trade deadline passes there will be a spot for him to be recalled again. The Rangers are at the point where the need to play the kids, so they truly have nothing to lose right now.
