Teacher Appreciation Poster Bundle (Free Printables)

The first full week of May (May 4–8) is Teacher Appreciation Week. It’s a great opportunity to reflect on the school year and celebrate the work that teachers do. To help show appreciation for teachers, we’ve created free teacher appreciation posters that are perfect for the classroom, hallways, or staff room.

Use this poster to inspire students to think of the ways they could support their school and teachers. What school-based problem could they solve? How can they create change in their community?

It Takes a Big Heart To Shape Little Minds

This poster speaks to teachers of younger students, but it applies to all teachers. Any teacher who’s had an aha moment will relate to this poster.

This poster can spark discussion about a favorite teacher or how students have been impacted by the teachers in their lives.

To Teach Is To Touch a Life Forever

Take time to think about the students you remember and how you impacted their lives. Teaching is such a busy career that sometimes we have to force ourselves to take a moment to reflect.

Only the Brave Choose To Teach

Teaching can be a powerful career, especially when teaching through adversity. Encourage students to think about what it means to be brave (e.g., use stories of inspirational women) and the role that brave teachers have in shaping people’s lives.

Here’s another version of this poignant message. Invite students to think about what they want to be when they grow up and the role teachers will play in their careers.

How To Use the Teacher Appreciation Posters in Your Classroom and School

Print, post, and inspire! These teacher appreciation posters are perfect for:

  • Writing prompts: Use the posters to inspire research and reflection on the role that teachers play in our lives. Choose one quote, connect a few biographies to the quote, and students can write a reflection, biography, or even a short speech.
  • Discussion starters: Younger children can talk about what teachers and school mean to them. Older students can talk about the role that teachers play in society and how recent developments, like technology and AI, have had on education.
  • Letter writing: Have each student reflect on a teacher that has made a difference in their life and write a letter to that teacher. Even better, actually deliver the letter to the teacher.
  • Plan teacher appreciation: Put teacher appreciation in the hands of students. Charge them with planning an assembly to honor the teachers in your school.
  • Decorate the staff lounge: Enlist students to update the staff lounge using these posters as a starting point.

Why Celebrate Teachers?

Does it need to be said? Teaching is an undervalued profession to start with, and it’s important to remind students, the community, and teachers themselves about the powerful role teachers play in individual lives and in society. We officially celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week in May, but these posters are relevant all year long.
