The Inner Circle: “Secure that contract”

After his ups and downs in the home of martial arts, something has shifted in multi-time Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadium champion Yodlekpet Or Atchariya of Thailand.

‘The Destroyer’ is bringing a different mentality to ONE Friday Fights 157 this Friday night against Saw Min Min in the main event at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.

The 31-year-old Thai veteran has spent the better part of two years clawing his way back through the weekly circuit after a rough patch threatened to derail his run entirely.

Winning four of his last five bouts convincingly, Yodlekpet believes it’s time to claim that coveted US$100,000 main roster contract.

He told ONE Championship in his pre-event interview:

“You are going to see a more savage, more clinical, and much faster version of Yodlekpet. I am going out there to dominate, get the win, and secure that contract.”

Yodlekpet has experienced heartbreak over and over again. But instead of withering under pressure, he used it to refine his game. What emerged is a fighter with controlled aggression that older versions of himself did not always possess.

He unleashed those improvements in his third-round finish of Gingsanglek Wor Kumchamnarn in his last outing.

Yodlekpet says latest knockout win has given him great confidence

Yodlekpet snapped Gingsanglek’s three-fight winning streak with another violent finish in the final round of their entertaining showdown.

It was a back-and-forth war, and ‘The Destroyer’ got caught with powerful shots early. But Yodlekpet is no longer the same fighter who succumbs to adversity. He showed heart and grit and was able to overcome his Thai compatriot.

“Getting the win over a guy in such great form has done wonders for my confidence,” he told ONE Championship. “It feels great to have that momentum back on my side.”
