Visitors can explore the change in season with a fall themed scavenger hunt with prizes in the historic site’s memorial tree grove and follow the historic site’s nationally designated History Trail to discover the role Sackets Harbor played during the War of 1812.

Scavenger hunt clues are on the interpretive panels along the trail and in the barn exhibits. Along the way you can see how site staff work to restore native habitats on the historic battlegrounds. The site is also recognized as an official NYS Birding Trail.

Partners for the new Fish and Wildlife Day include Parks & Trails New York and the Department of Environments Conservation, as part of the “Love Our New York Lands Stewardship Days.”
