Where to watch the Oscars in NYC

Hollywood’s biggest night comes to New York City. For a festive Oscars-viewing experience, hit one of the city’s bars, venues, or movie theaters hosting watch parties in honor of the 98th annual Academy Awards this Sunday, March 15. Ahead, find our favorite spots to show off your red-carpet look, place your bets on this year’s nominees, and sip a cinema-themed cocktail among fellow film fans.

Metrograph
The Metrograph’s free annual Academy Awards viewing party is back. The old-Hollywood-inspired two-screen movie theater on the Lower East Side is screening the Oscars on both screens, with one designated as the quiet theater, as well as in the lobby. Tables at the Commissary, only available to members of Metrograph, are already booked, but the lobby and both theaters are up for grabs on a first-come, first-served basis.

Wear your red carpet finest and fill out an Oscar ballot before 7 p.m. to win prizes up to $200.

230 Fifth
Midtown’s 230 Fifth is known for its year-round glitz and glamour, but the indoor-outdoor bar and events venue takes it up a notch for the Oscars. The $25 ticket includes admission to the indoor event, a free cup of popcorn, and access to the bar’s famous rooftop, which has direct views of New York City’s very own celebrity, the Empire State Building. Fraunces Tavern
Fans of history and Hollywood should head to Fraunces Tavern, a Financial District bar established in 1762. The bar is hosting an Oscars viewing party on Sunday that will offer a red carpet step and repeat, a photo booth, free popcorn, movie-themed cocktails, and a full food and drink menu. The best-dressed attendee will win a bottle of Moët Champagne. Doors open at 6 p.m., Oscar ballots must be submitted by 6:45 p.m.Tickets start at $25; buy them here.

Littlefield
In Gowanus, Littlefield is hosting a free Oscars watch party hosted by writer and comedian Zach Schiffman and other comics. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are free, but RSVPs are required here.

Parklife
At Littlefield’s sister bar across the street, Parklife is also hosting an Academy Award party. Hosted by comedian Bobby Hankinson, the party includes watachalong bingo, trivia, Oscar prediction ballots, and queso and cocktails. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are recommended via OpenTable.

Brooklyn Art Haus
The new multi-purpose performance space/art gallery/lounge in Williamsburg will host a fun-filled night on Sunday, hosted by Aaron Applebey and Micela Fagain, along with comedians Serah Bennett and Sam Speedy. Doors open at 6 p.m., and snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. The $10 ticket goes toward the bar/food tab.

Oscars Live At Caveat
Laugh your way through the awards show with comedians at Caveat. The Lower East Side bar is hosting a watch party this Sunday with live comedic performances, interactive games, and “surprises during commercial breaks.” Tickets start at $20.
