WWE Star Legitimately Injured; In A Brace

A WWE star and reigning champion has suffered an injury and was written off television recently. Some more light has now been shed on the matter.

The reigning AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo del Vikingo appears to have suffered a serious knee injury. The 29-year-old last wrestled against AAA World Cruiserweight Champion Rey Fenx and lost on the June 29 taping of SmackDown after RAW. The episode will be telecast this Friday night in the United States.

Meanwhile, False Finish has reported that the 29-year-old heel star has injured his left knee, which was considerably swollen and in a brace. The report further mentioned that MRI results were awaited. Vikingo seemingly hurt himself while preparing for his title defense against an NXT Superstar.

He was then written off television after an attack by NXT star Keanu Carver.

There was a follow-up report from PWInsider, which confirmed the injury to the knee of the 29-year-old Mexican star.

Vikingo has appeared on WWE television occasionally and had a notable feud with RAW Superstar Dominik Mysterio over the Mexican promotion’s Mega Championship.

WWE Star Replaced Before Match On Television

The reigning AAA Latin American Champion was supposed to defend his title against EK Prosper on NXT television in singles competition last night.

However, after injuring himself while preparing for his bout, El Hijo del Vikingo was then written off television after an attack by NXT’s Keanu Carver, who took his spot and faced Prosper. A ghost from Carver’s past came back to haunt him as Hank Walker’s distraction allowed EK Prosper to steal the victory.

WWE views El Hijo del Vikingo as one of AAA’s top talents and will want the reigning Latin American Champion back in action soon. The AAA star defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. on May 5 to become the new champion.
