Friday Night SmackDown has been facing an identity crisis in recent times due to the scarcity of top stars on the brand. That roster that once overflowed with marquee names is now struggling to hold its fort. Meanwhile, Monday Night Raw appears deeper in high-profile talent. With stars like CM Punk, Bron Breakker, Seth Rollins and others driving compelling angles, RAW maintains a stronger sense of momentum and star-driven storytelling.
This growing imbalance on both rosters has become impossible to ignore and it has been adversely affecting the blue brand in many ways. The current situation is clamoring for a major roster shakeup. WWE needs to send some of the prominent superstars from RAW to SmackDown immediately to maintain an equilibrium. It has become a necessity to revive the blue brand now that we are in the post-WrestleMania season.
Thanks for the submission!
Let’s take a look at six RAW stars who urgently need to move to SmackDown:
#6. LA Knight
LA Knight has been a cornerstone of Monday Night Raw for the past few years. He delivered some great feuds and storylines on the brand, giving fans unforgettable moments. However, his time on the flagship show has apparently reached its apogee. Things have become quite stagnant for Knight on RAW as he is getting involved in repeated storylines.
The Megastar needs a fresh direction on the post-WrestleMania season. Therefore, he immediately needs to move to SmackDown, as sticking to RAW any longer might put a halt to his momentum. A brand switch could give LA Knight some fresh feuds and storylines. He could feud with superstars like Carmelo Hayes for the United States Championship.
#5. Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio is one of the most legendary stars currently residing on Monday Night Raw. The Hall of Famer needs to move to SmackDown immediately because there’s a scarcity of top babyfaces on the brand. Jacob Fatu has started to become a mainstay of RAW lately and Sami Zayn has started to exude heelish characteristics despite being a face.
Therefore, Cody Rhodes has been the lone hero on the show. This is one of the major reasons why The Master of 619 needs to go to Nick Aldis’ brand. Rey Mysterio is one of the most beloved stars in pro wrestling and his presence on the blue brand could fill those voids. Besides, Mysterio has nothing much left to do on Monday Night Raw at this point.
#4. Maxinne Dupri should move to SmackDown
Maxxine Dupri is another name from RAW who immediately needs to go to SmackDown. And the reason is simple. The women’s mid-card division of the blue brand is equally struggling to maintain its relevance. Chelsea Green is currently dealing with an injury and Giulia’s presence has had no impact. Besides, stars like Michin and B-Fab have also failed to do anything significant.
Most importantly, all these superstars are heels and the mid-card division lacks babyfaces. Therefore, a superstar like Maxxine Dupri, who made a strong connection with the fans on RAW in recent years, can revive the division on Friday night. This could give rise to some great storylines on the blue brand, giving fans something fresh to look forward to.
#3. Julius Creed & #2. Brutus Creed
SmackDown’s tag team division has also gotten quite stagnant lately, with the same things repeating in one way or another. This cannot continue for long and Triple H needs to take immediate measures to fix the situation. Therefore, WWE must move The Creed Brothers to the blue brand, similar to how they moved The Street Profits to Monday Night Raw.
Julius Creed and Brutus Creed have been directionless on the flagship show for the past several months. They have been off the programming too due to a lack of creative plans. The Creed Brothers have been seeking a way to come to the spotlight again and WWE has a great opportunity to repackage them by sending them to the Friday night show.
#1. CM Punk
While it may be debatable, CM Punk is another superstar who needs to leave for SmackDown immediately. The Best in the World has been the cornerstone of RAW for quite some time now. He delivered some feuds there with stars like Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Gunther and Roman Reigns. However, it’s time for a change. There’s much left for Punk to do on the red brand.
SmackDown has been dealing with a scarcity of top babyfaces in the main event scene, giving WWE a strong reason to move CM Punk to the brand. The Second City Saint lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42. He now needs a fresh new chapter and moving to the blue brand will provide him with that new beginning. The addition of a top star would also bolster SmackDown’s upper card.
