The New York Rangers are finally ending this awful season. At least it ends with a decent run and some hope, but there’s plenty of work to do in the offseason. The first item up will be the draft lottery, where the Rangers can really help themselves with a loss tonight in Tampa. A regulation loss clinches 30th and the third overall pick heading into the draft lottery. Calgary would need to at least tie the Rangers in points to finish ahead of them (29th) in the standings.
Tampa doesn’t have much to play for with 2nd in the Atlantic clinched. Right now their lineup looks to be the same, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they rest some players tonight.
